  Eligibility Criteria for South Korea Scholarship

1. Both you, the applicant and your parents must be citizens of your country of origin.
2. You should not have Korean citizenship.
3. You should be mentally and physically healthy to enable you to stay in the country for a long time.
4. For undergraduates, you should be less than 25 years of age when applying for the scholarship and for graduates, you should be less than 40 years of age when applying for the scholarship.
5. You must have finished or are about to finish education in college to apply for the scholarship for undergraduates and graduates, you should have a bachelor’s or a master’s degree.
6. You should have a CGPA of above 80% from your previous school.
7. If you have previously enrolled in any undergraduate, master’s or doctoral program in Korea, you can’t apply for the scholarship.

  How to apply for a Scholarship in South Korea

  Select a University

There are many good universities in South Korea. It is important that you make a list of universities and choose the one you want to attend.

  Apply to the University

After choosing the university you want to attend, get the online form, fill it and submit it. Wait for you to get admitted and if you do get admitted, you will be sent an acceptance letter. This letter will be needed when applying for the scholarship.

  Apply for the Scholarship

Do your research on the numerous scholarships, and their requirements and see if they are a perfect fit for your educational goals. After choosing the scholarship you want, get the online form, complete the form and submit the form alongside the necessary documents that the scholarship requires. Make sure all the submitted documents are correct to avoid any mistake that may hinder you from getting the scholarship.

  Wait for Results

If you are awarded the scholarship, the scholarship board will use the reward money to cover your tuition fee. How your tuition fee is paid depends on the number of sessions you have for your education at university.

  Necessary Documents to Apply for a South Korean Scholarship

Not forgetting the fact that every scholarship has certain requirements and documents that an applicant must have before applying for it, there are some general documents that any applicant must have before applying for a scholarship in South Korea. They are:

1. The application form.
2. Passport-size photograph.
3. Acceptance letter from the university applied to.
4. Applicant’s personal statement.

7. A single letter of recommendation.
8. Proof of good health or medical assessments.
9. Proof of applicant and parents’ citizenship as well as proof of family relationship.
10. For undergraduates, high school graduation certificates are needed while for graduates, a bachelor’s degree will be needed.
11. A transcript of your high school or graduate university curriculum.
12. Although it is optional, a valid certificate of TOPIK score or certificate of English proficiency scores in tests like TOEFL, TOEIC, IELTS, etc. should be presented.
