UX-UI Designer, Monetization

We are seeking a talented UI/UX Designer with a focus on monetization and economy design to join our design team. As a Monetization UX/UI Designer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing user experiences by creating intuitive, visually appealing interfaces that drive engagement and revenue growth. By meticulously crafting user interfaces that guide users towards desired actions, such as making purchases, subscribing, or engaging with revenue-generating features, you will directly impact the conversion rates and overall revenue generation. Your expertise in economy design, which involves structuring pricing models, virtual goods, and incentives, contributes to user satisfaction and long-term monetization strategies. This role bridges the gap between user experience and business goals, ensuring that VRChat maximizes its financial potential while delivering value to users. As part of that process, you’ll be creating and maintaining design materials while ensuring they are communicated effectively to those requiring them. You will be guiding the design of features from concept to release, and then iterating on them as the team and community provide feedback.

Higher user engagement, increased conversion rates, and sustained monetization can lead to substantial revenue growth, enabling the business to invest in further product development, marketing, and innovation.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with product managers, system designers, and other stakeholders to understand and refine monetization and economy strategies
• Design user interfaces that seamlessly integrate monetization mechanics, ensuring they enhance the user experience and align with the overall product vision
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that effectively communicate UI design concepts, interaction flows, and monetization features
• Conceptualize and implement user-friendly purchasing flows, virtual currency systems, and reward mechanisms that drive user engagement and spending
• Collaborate with the UX team to conduct user research, gather feedback, and iterate on UI designs based on data-driven insights and user testing
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in monetization and economy design, applying these insights to enhance our products.
• Work closely with developers to ensure the seamless integration of UI designs into the final product, providing guidance and assets as needed
• Engage with VRChat’s connected platforms like Discord, Twitch, Youtube, etc. to understand the environment and stay up to date with community feedback on VRChat

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a UX/UI Designer, with a portfolio showcasing successful UI designs for products with strong monetization and economy components
• Solid understanding of game mechanics, virtual economies, and monetization strategies within the digital product space
• Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles and the ability to balance business goals with user needs
• The ability to work with ambiguous ideas and turn them into practical design concepts
• Must be able to communicate design concepts effectively to the team
• Ability to stay focused and productive in a permanent work-from-home environment
