About the Role

i4DM is seeking an X12 Data Architect to join our fast-growing IT-project based consulting business. We need a well-rounded team member with a background in data architecture activities, extract-transform-load (ETL) processes, and data warehouse solutions design, as well as experience with HL7 integration, X12 EDI 837 and 835 transactions sets, and working knowledge of HIPAA.

You’ll work with a team to help our client overcome their most difficult challenges in consolidating and presenting critical data in actionable format. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and implement X12 data architecture solutions for software integration projects and coordinate applications across functions or between organizations 
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into X12 data models, structures, and HL7 interfaces 
  • Design and maintain X12 data dictionaries, HL7 message structures, mapping tables, and other reference materials for seamless data integration and interoperability
  • Implement data governance practices specific to healthcare data, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, validation errors, or HIPAA compliance violations
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization of data process and transformation process to meet system requirements
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to X12, HL7, and HIPAA
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including healthcare professionals and IT staff to integrate software solutions with other applications or organizations
  • Document data architecture solutions, including data models, data flows, HL7 message structures, and integration patterns
  • Apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge to develop innovative solutions and present to clients

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience with HL7 integration
  • 5+ years of experience in programming and working with X12 EDI 837 and 835 transaction sets
  • 2+ years of working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and incorporating security into systems to protect Personally Identifiable Information (PII) and Personal Health Information (PHI)
  • 2+ years of experience in relational healthcare claims data and auto-adjudication claims processes, with an understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
  • 1+ years of experience in programming and working with Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource (FHIR) transactions
  • Experience with participating in component and data architecture design, performance monitoring, data exchange hubs, and transport mechanisms
  • Knowledge of scripting, database, and data science tools, including REST Web Services and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of systems analysis, design, development, quality assurance, and integration methodologies to develop quality technical solutions
  • Ability to troubleshoot and maintain services of existing HL7 transaction generation and processing code
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with generating X12 test data
  • Experience with presenting to, working with, and advising senior-level clients
  • Knowledge of biology and microbiology
  • Knowledge of healthcare claims codes, such as CPT, Procedures, Diagnosis, NDC, Claims Adjustment, and/or Taxonomy Codes
  • Ability to present to clients on interoperability solutions, architecture, and technical recommendations
  • Public Trust
  • Master’s degree in Business Management, Public Health, or Health Informatics
  • CMMI’s Data Management Maturity (DMM) Certification
