The Opportunity:

You will enhance our leadership team in our goal to run a performant engineering department while following the principle of “tech is a people business”. Our leadership culture will guide you to empower and mentor engineer managers to run their teams in a lean and efficient manner in order to deliver the best products for our customers. Furthermore you will drive and continuously grow our Infrastructure and Tooling group in a tandem with the Head of Product.

Your mission:

  • Ensure company and department strategies and vision are understood and cascaded into the teams with your Head of Product Management peer
  • Deliver products, services, and solutions in conjunction with your group colleagues according to the business domain and product vision
  • Support the implementation and improvement of company programs, procedures, methods, processes and practices with other Heads of Engineering (e.g. onboarding, performance management, people development, retention, best practices)
  • Project Management for group wide tech initiatives in close collaboration with Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers
  • Drive people and team strategy planning (FTE, skills needed, depth of experience, internal and external staffing mix, team moves) consistent with the budget and needs of the group
  • People management for Engineering Managers, supporting their growth, coaching them, and conducting performance and development dialogs
  • Ensure that Engineering Managers focus on engineering excellence, quality in all matters, and speed to market
  • Monitor operational statistics, reports trends, variances and issues

What you need to succeed:

  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring managers in a tech environment
  • Engineering background highly-preferred in infrastructure domain
  • Profound knowledge in direction setting
  • Expertise and experience in Project Management
  • Passion for teamwork with excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Experience working within an Agile environment with focus on the customer view
  • Mentality to share and the aspiration to constantly improve yourself and learn about leadership, new technologies, and concepts
  • Fluent English communication skills to work in an international environment
  • Good sense of humour

Nice to have:

  • General experience within the e-commerce space
